Vic
and Nick were discovered in a boarded up cocktail lounge in Passaic,
NJ during the 1989 building boom, when a developer unearthed them
while working on a condo redevelopment project. There they were, patiently
awaiting the return of the audience, who they thought had just stepped
out for a smoke.
Faced
with the realization that the gig they'd had since '63 was finally
over, Vic and Nick climbed into Nick's Ford Econoline van and headed
west to the mecca of their beloved lounge music, Las Vegas. They were
more than slightly irritated to find that The Sands, The Dessert Inn
and all their favorite haunts had been replaced by pirate ships, pyramids
and an endlessly erupting volcano. Crushed and disillusioned, the
two began to wander aimlessly around the world in search of a new
homeland.
Finally,
in a small bar in Katmandu, Vic and Nick had a breakthrough. While
performing for a small group of locals, they found the inspiration
they'd been longing for. In spite of the fact that the audience could
not understand a single word that was being said, they were visibly
moved by V & N's cool swingin' style. Though sad to leave their loyal
fans in Katmandu, both realized their destiny was to share their dream
of the "eternal lounge" with the world.
On
that day, Vic and Nick vowed to selflessly help new audiences discover
that groovy swingin' feeling. The future lies ahead.
