October 2005: I really like the style
and layout of your webpage! Good work! luv the bobs!! this site is awesum!! hey, do u guyz have a listening station?? I see that there are no set dates to come to Florida, too bad so sad for me. New wife of 1 year and I would love to see you but NC is a little far away. Hope all is well you appear busy with schedule so I guess it is going well for you. Stay cool. Paul Bouvier September 2005: We have had the great
pleasure of watching two of your concerts. Hoping to be able to see you in
Hayes Ks in Feb of 2006. I saw you guys on Friday
at Hawkins Ampitheater with the Lounge Lizards. You were excellent! June 2005:
I just thought you might
like to know that CASTLE INFINITY is back online. It's a BOBS extravaganza, featuring
thousands of musical clips, gags, and a dozen full-blown songs by the bobs. Several
thousand people are using it everyday!
You can get it for free at http://castleinfinity.com/register.php. Regards,
May 2005: I live in Santa Cruz
and have been at most of your concerts here for many years. I'm not sure
how long, but Jamie Bob was with you when I first heard you. My first two
albums are on cassette, if that dates it better. Last night was the most
polished mayhem I think I have ever seen. Keep the faith and I love Dan Bob's
presence. I saw you folks in Pittsburgh
years ago, loved you so much that I got together and took about 20 friends
to see you perform with ISO. My daughter has grown up to your tunes and still
loves My Shoes and the Laundry songs best. Just found a CD of you at The
Goodwill too bad someone someone did not appreciate you but great luck for
me as my tape is just about worn out. Keep up the great work. April 2005: Your music is cool!!! My
friends think it is cool how you do the vocal instruments. What is the song
called that talks about fluffy the cat plan to take over the world? Can you
tell me my e-mail address is ofischer@cox.net sincerely, Where in Nova Scotia Canada
can I get your cd's? Also will you ever tour to Nova Scotia? I heard you on NPR. I can't
wait to get to a concert. In the meantime, please put me on the mailing list. Thank
you, I'm just wondering if was
merely a coincidence that within less than a week of your pulling the song "Beluga" from
mothballs to perform at The Hi Bobs! My husband, John,
and I were at your show at the Patriot's Theater in Trenton, New Jersey on
Thursday, April 7th. (Didn't you just love the intimate atmosphere?) We had
a wonderful, fun time. But you're just TOO good!! In the local newspaper,
The Times, a day or two ago they reported that a 'Beluuuuuuga' whale had swam
its way up the Delaware River to Trenton from the deep Atlantic. I've heard
of bird calls, duck calls, even cat calls............but a Beluuuuuuga call?!
And it works!! We look forward to enjoying another performance by the extremely
talented and entertaining Bobs. We're going to put in a request that The
Kaplan Series include you again next year. Thanks for a great evening. hey, you were so awesome
fluffy master plan for world domination, my favorite song was the tree song
Amy you were great. My school Bull Run Elementary loved you guys that is
so cool how you can sound like real instruments. Today, April 12, 2005 you
had a performance at my Elementary school, Mantua. Its was really cool!!!
My friends and I were talking about how fun it was to here you guys do that.
I remembered some of your names. Richard, Dan, Amy, and the head person never
said his name. Fan for years -- but first time seeing/hearing Dan. Just... WOW! Greetings Bobs! I remember seeing you way back in the 80's at the Julia Morgan
Theater in Berkeley... My sister Kim (a violinist at the Crowden School) was
a big fan and your first album, The Bobs was the first album I have ever owned.
I am glad to see you are still on tour! Helter Skelter sure does bring back
some memories! If you are ever in Vienna, Austria, drop me a line.
March 2005: I enjoyed your show in the ever-glitzy Shoreline, WA (catch it!). Ever since listening to the self-titled album when I was embarassingly young, I've ranked y'all as my absolute favorite group :) My iPod wouldn't be the same without you! Highlights of my FOBness: The next highlight I look forward to is meeting Matthew Bob during his tenure as Director of Babes in the Wood and the revival of Clown Chaos with the Fremont Players and Cirque de Flambe Thanks for filling my heart with cynical, original, chaotic little songs! Any plans for a Rocky Mountain
Tour? The mountains miss you….Think
of the possibilities – BOBS on skis Hey I love you guys!!! Dan you are gorgeous! Keep up the good work! April 2004: Wonderful, love you every time I see you. Just
wanted to say that DAN.....WOW
he is fabulous!!!!!! A great addition. thanks for
all you folks do, we really
enjoy it. February 2004:
Thought you'd like to know that my NASA teammates back in
Pasadena prepared for today's first successful "RAT" (Rock Abrasion
Tool) drilling operation by waking up to the music of "Pounded on a
Rock"!
November 2003: Comments on thebobs Mechanics Hall concert (aside from that it was absolutely fabulous).
As always, a fabulous show! thank you for such a wonderful night of fun. Good luck on your upcoming DVD, Rhapsody in Bob......and the taping today. I came home after the show and listened to my newest Bob cd. Thankyou again for the magic.
September 2003: You guys are the coolest. MY shoes are on top of the world.
July 2003: Looking at your press clips I was reminded that I saw a review of "Shut Up and Sing" in Wired a few years back (before the magazine started to suck). Just a brief blurb:
June 2003: your work is incomparable
! when i hear you and sing along i am inspired to dare greater dreams. thank
you for the magic ,that is the "bobs" . your one of countless fans. You guys are the best group
I have ever heard! I always love listening to your music. The I Brow Club is
your best cd in my opinion. I listen to it so much, my parents get sick of it!
May 2003: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY !!!!!!!!
I've been a fan since overhearing
"Trash" coming from a stranger's open door in 1983. I had to knock and ask,
"What IS that?" Never saw that gal again, but what a great two decades it's
been since. You folks can be difficult listening, but, like fresh oysters, Tom
Waits, or single malt whiskey, you're worth the cultivation. I miss Gunnar's
"Mopping", Janie's "Fever", but love Joe's "Leisure Suit" and Amy's "Fluffy".
Although none of you can compare to my three-year-old belting out "My Shoes"
from his car seat. We adore you. Thank you. Go on forever. April 2003: Hi from Germany, it was
in 1996 or so, when my wife took me to the concert of the bobs in Bremen-Vegesack,
the hall is called KITO...and I was so surprised of this wonderful, astonishing
Music. Could You pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase come back soon (!). It is not
necessary touring in the states, because nearly everybody seems to know You
there, but here in Germany there are not so many wonderful musicians like You.
(Sorry for my english...) My husband got me hooked
on you -- he's a sick puppy, but he's cute... We laugh and laugh and now the
kids all sing along in the minivan on road trips. Hurry and come to Portland
OR so we can sit in the audience and sing and laugh along with you in person.!!
You guys are great!! When I heard that the Bobs
were coming to Nothampton High, I was extremly happy. I was very impressed with
your preformances also. I attended the acapella workshop also and i was extremly
happy with the advise that you gave at the workshop. Thank you so much. Everyone
appreciated your preformance and your advise to the Nothampton High acapella
group. Come back whenever you can. It was a fabulous experience.>>>Michelle March 2003: The Bobs have been the song
in my head since my own acapella group went to see you at the Iron Horse...more
years ago than I'd like to mention. I can often be found humming "Sign my snarling
doggie" and start every Summer with "Rainbird" for my brother's irrigation business.
But where is the ONE song I'm dying to own? It's debut was at the Iron Horse
and was entirely made up of bumper stickers. "I heart my dog's head...but I
honk for the lord..." My collection of The Bobs and now Davinci's notebook is
becoming more staggering by the minute. On the sixth day the lord created Mouth-Percussion!
January 2003: Hope you get back to the Denver area sometime soon. I've got a lot of friends
that want to see ya that haven't had the chance. You guys are GREAT!!! October 2002: Don't have cable, but copied a performance from the local PBS station. Their
version of "MY Shoes ARE..." has so captivated me that I shared it w/grandson,
8 yrs. old. Awesome, Russell agreed, and it is one of our favorite "in the car"
treats. Thanks. m mc Several years ago we caught the tail end of your performance with ISO on PBS
- have made several tape copies of "My Shoes" and enjoyed them ever since...in
fact, some kids in my dorm are doing a re-enactment of it this week for our
own enjoyment. I had no idea you were still in existence, but am looking forward
to hearing more stuff! August 2002:
bon jour. Have been a Bobs fan a long long long long long long oh so very long
time, long ago girlfriend bought me the first album after I'd expressed a mild
interest in its odd disclaimer, the one a la a cigarette package warning. I
was hooked right away. Be My Yoko, Bus Plunge, etc etc. Have you guys heard
BNL's "Be My Yoko Ono"? Everyone asks that nowadays, right? Or used to. Had
the pleasure of seeing The Bobs at the Great Am. Music Hall in SF a decade ago
--- after Gunnar's departure, alas. Also saw a show in Colorado Springs, of
all places. Now I live near Boulder. Please come here and play! I know: you
can use the deck in our back yard as a stage and play at my kid's birthday party.
That's just crazy enough to work. Your music is phenominal. Everyone who knows me knows about the Bobs because
I talk about you so frequently. I see you in concert as much as possible. I
believe you are true musicians because your music does something that music
should but doesn't always do. It makes me happy. Keep the grooves coming. The
world needs you. July 2002:
I saw you perform at the Iowa High School All State Jazz concert in Mason City
(my sister was in the choir) and I thought you were phenomenal. Your blending
was incredible, and as a violinist/pianist, I really appreciate your correct
intonation! I live in L.A., and we need more acts like you! I first heard you folks in the early 1980's when my boyfriend of the time had
a tape of yours he got from one of his buddies. I then had the pleasure of seeing
you folks at LLoyd's in Hartford, Ct.. I think I wore down the grooves on the
album- I guess I'll have to get the record on CD. I'm happy to see that you
are still together and singing! Excellent stuff! Saw you in Eugene, Ore. at the fair today 7-13 and wow you are all fantastic.
I am now a devoted fan and am buying some albums......thank you! What was the
name of the song Amy sang first? June 2002:
I've been a big fan for a while and I went to the Valentine's Day concert @
the barnes of Wolf Trap... I had to sit with my sister, who really didn't like
the group... that is, until that night. She pouted and sulked (yes, she is 18)
the whole first part of the show, but after intermission when I dragged her
up to the empty seats in the 2nd row she gave up and actually had fun... imagine
that. She's not actually allowed herself to listen to the music in front of
other people, but I think I know who's responsible for the disapearing Coaster
disk. May 2002:
Thank you for YOUR AWESOME AND INTELLIGENT (a rare thing!) MUSIC, and the opportunity
to contact you. I am SO glad you're still around! ----> [insert here the Usual
Gushing Noises, Notification of How I Learned Of You, Notification of My Favorite
Song(s), and Where-And-How-I-Add-The-3rd-4th-Or-5th-Note-Missing-In-The-Chord-Where-Applicable-On-Each-Song-When-I-Sing-Along-With-Your-Recordings,
etc. - all of which I'll spare you of since I bet it's all old hat to you by
now anyway] *whew!* Great concert at Villa Montalvo! After 20 years you haven't lost your humor
or your appeal. Joe Bob, that leisure suit really does match your eyes. That's
why all the chicks go crazy. That, and the matching microphone cover...let us
know the next time you're in town! Hi, I'm from Brazil and I really really like The Bobs!! Do you have any plans
to come to Brazil?? I want very much to go to a concert of The Bobs!! And, if
you come to Brazil, please, come to Curitiba-PR!!! thanks and congratulations
for the great musics!! Do you have any plans to come back to Denver soon? We miss you! First saw you at (I think) the Great American Music Hall back with the original
four Bobs, and was very impressed (to the point of obsession!). Am amazed you
are still around. I missed the recent Freight and Salvage gig but will try to
get to one of your shows. I miss you guys (and gal). April 2002:
OH MY GOSH!!! I luv the bobs!!! See I'm a dancer and my strong points are tap
and modern. So we started doin are warmup to the bobs and eversince I've been
hooked!!! Not only that so is our whole dance class and we're spreading the
joy to everyone we know!!! HAIL TO THE BOBS!!! =0) PSYCHO KILLER IS THE BEST
SONG!!! February 2002:
Well well well.... I guess I'll tell my Bob tale, too. I first ran across your
music at the library I was working at back home in Minnesota a few years ago,
and have since been slowly building a collection of Bobs music (when I have
the cash... college is expensive). I even got to see you guys live at the Cedar
Center in Minneapolis a few years ago. It's at the point now that when I went
into the local used CD shop the other day, the guy behind the counter said "Hey!
You're the guy looking for those Bobs CDs, right? This just came in," and proceeded
to present me with a copy of "Shut Up and Sing." And I have enjoyed the album
thouroughly.
Congrats on over 20 years of great and inventive music. rock on Hey! One of my teachers that I met with recently introduced me to your group,
and I loved it! I have to say that you did a really good job on "White Room".
I can't wait to see you in concert! i'v never really heard of u before, but after i listened 2 some of u'r music
on the internet, i actually found out u weren't half bad! keep up the good work:-)
January 2002:
We bought "Shut up and Sing" last summer after hearing a semi-professional
a cappella group in Seattle cover "Spontaneous Human Consumption". My seven-year
old son can't get enough of this album! Although he loves SHC, Mr. Duality seems
to be his favorite (so far he hasn't asked what "sexual" means, or "ineffectual"
for that matter, but it's only a matter of time). Slow Down Krishna is also
a big hit. He likes to read the lyrics on the sleeve to sing along with the
songs. BTW, "Shut Up and Sing" has replaced the Klezmatics "Jews with Horns"
as the must-play-in-the-car-CD, which my wife is happy with as she was getting
sick of a constant diet of Klezmer. So it goes. December 2001:
My wife and I saw your first show at Jazz Alley in Seattle on December 22,
and I was so impressed by your song about drunk driving that Sunday night on
the way to work I managed to have my pickup wrecked by a drunk driver. I hope
he enjoyed peeing in the pail. Enjoyed your gig @ jazz alley in seattle....sunday evening......guess we shoulda
been there on friday!!?? You rock!!! outstanding performance, simply marvelous, thank you for coming to Seattle
Powerful rendition of John Lennon's 'COME TOGETHER' its difficult to think of
a request that might entertain or challenge you all, but one song did come to
mind have you ever performed I'M ON A MEXICAN RADIO? Hey! I just got back from your concert at Jazz Alley in Seattle and it was
great!!!! I know, earlier, that my Jazz choir had wanted to sing some of your
songs and we did end up singing "Elwood Decker" which was great, and we tried
to sing "Spontaneous Human Combustion" without success. But I just had to say...you
guys really know how to entertain, and I really and truly enjoyed the songs,
mainly your performance! I wish I could've stayed for the second show....but
we live about 30 miles north of Seattle....I WILL have to go to your show, because
there is always a next time!!!! And I will be looking forward to that!!!! heard you on dori's show. really enjoyed the way you "crafted" your songs!
happy holidays! phil
Greetings from SLO and happy holidays. You know I will be playin Too Many Santas
on my old relic of a cd player as my brother weres his many dusty sweaters. You
were great in santa lui in the 18 of nov and i can't wait untill i buy your
newest Cd Coaster SEE YA I just wanted to drop a
quick line to say Hi and to thank you for the enjoyable night that I had with
my daughter the other night at The Iron Horse. I had bought myself a T-shirt
that you signed. I was so struck as to how all of you seemed like real down
to earth nice people. Keep on making your beautiful music. I can't wait to see
The Bobs live again.
Your workshop with the Reston Chorale was an absolute blast! After pouring
through your two songbooks later, it occurred to me that you've released one
each with Janie Bob and Lori Bob. That means it's time for one with Amy Bob!
Please let us rabid fans know if and when you plan to have a new songbook. I
look forward to trying out just about everything from "Coaster", which I think
is one of your best albums ever!
