Can't get enough of "I Brow Club." Dare I admit to having worn leisure suits (and feeling grown up!) when I was a kid?? That may explain a great many things, but I won't go there. See/Hear you in Columbus next weekend.

Two questions, if I may ask: When will Bongwater Day be in future years? and What was the birthday dedication song that didn't get sung at the Iron Horse? Whatever it wasn't, I'm sure it was great. Oh, and after the Town Crier show, did anyone remember to remind Richard Bob that "The Long Drive Home" would be a good song title?

I love you guys! I have been a huge Bobs fan since I was attending Pepperdine University in Malibu -- I'm much smaller now (Ha, ha, ha!). Anyway, whenever I'm down, and I need a little brightness in my day, all I have to do is listen to "Please let me be your third world country" and my day is much better! Keep up the GREAT work!

I have noticed that no matter what kind of weird mix of music I have stacked next to my CD player -- classical, jazz, Sondheim, pop -- I invariably have at least two of your CD's in the pile, more often than not on top. You guys are great, and I have yet to play one of your songs for someone without them immediately becoming a fan. Keep it up!

In March or May 1993 I had the oportunity to sing with y'all at a local community college in Rochester, N.Y. at a scat clinic for local high school jazz choirs. I've been a rabid fan ever since, enjoying your smorgasbord of styles. Richard, if you ever want to get an all bass group together for metaphysical musings of a great deep "om" get in touch with me. Lori - welcome to the group. You rock.

A longtime Bobophile, I've always marveled at the alternative universes Richard, et al, conjure up and populate with sympathetic, if twisted, characters. One line in "The Crow" puzzles me, though, and I wonder if anyone can share any insight into it. It's the reference to Jim Crow. The "Jim Crow" I know refers to laws on the books in Southern U.S. states from about the 1920s through 1960s that served to enforce racial segregation. How does that fit with the song, or further its ends? I'm not a wacko with a chip on my shoulder, just a Bobs fan who's a bit weirded out by one line on one album. If you have any ideas please e-mail me! Thanks.

Holy guacamole! I forgot that I was going to order more songbooks. The form is printing out as I type. Vol. 2 will be of particular interest, because must regrettably admit to not being good enough to figure out the non-obvious harmonies in "Rainbird," one of my favorite songs period (a cappella or not). Happy 1998, and I hope you'll return to the Land of Pig and Soy once again.
