Well, I just stumbled across your page accidently while searching for ideas for my own page. There it was: THE BOBS! That has to be the coolest thing I could ever see. You see, BOB is my FAVORITE name. I would change my name to Bob, however it would be sucha lot o' work to get all my credit cards changed so I'm sticking with Jennifer...anyways, PartyOn! Hey I hope you don't end up with his twice, but I just remembered that you probably should have MY address...here it is: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/7699 stop by...say hi!

I've been a fan of your group since I was in high school and my music teacher introduced me to the song, "Trash." I've performed your songs by transcribing them to sheet music. I heard you had a home page, so I decided to check it out. I see you chose the new female for the group. I heard that she was leaving the group about a month too late...I would have flown to CA to try out myself!!! I guess my dream will have to wait a few more years...haha. I would love to receive concert and fan club information, so please sign me up to your mailing list! Thanks! A Bob-ette

Saw you with ISO at Iowa State University in 1993, have been a fan since mid-80's. wish you came to the midwest (Iowa) more often. I'm a HS vocal director, and was glad to see you finally with a songbook that I can use with my students. Thanks and keep up the great stuff. I hope no one thinks the humor is just for fun. I like the deeper insight of some of the stuff.

I've been buying your music since I heard you on Live From Off Center about six or seven years ago and for a while didn't even know if you were still together. Keep up the excellent art and I'll hope to see you in the Midwest sometime.

AUDIOACTIVE: i haven't played with it under MSIE, but it's a regular stand-alone application and should have no effect on any online-server configuration settings. the only settings in MSIE should be a listing as audioactive being a helper-app for the appropriate mime-types. info on those is at www.audioactive.com and i'm sure they'd be interested in any bugs in their installer. good luck! you can always use realaudio or shockwave audio player to listen to the clips. the link to those was put in before i was ready, so that page will be updated to look nice and be easier to use soon :}

Thanks for a wonderful performance at the Maintenance Shop. (Now, if we could just get them to stop playing the Sinatra CDs during intermission etc...) I must admit to a bit of trepidation at the intro to "Signs on the Line," as I'd thought it a song securely associated with Janie Bob, but Lori Bob was great (and brought her own point of view to it). I would say I can't wait for your next central Iowa appearance, but of course I have to. (Mumble, mumble.) I now understand why "Bird on a Wire" MUST be experienced live. Thanks again.

No comment, really. I mean what could I say? I listen to your turn of phrase both musical and lyrical and am in bliss! Alright, maybe bliss is too strong a word,... I really like it. A lot. As a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BA in music composition, I'm not just saying this. Your use of the vocal palette is quite extensive and not something that I've found in any orchestration book. Are you planning on publishing?? Let me know.

I was introduced to your music 8 years ago by my friend David Barber, a musician and writer of amusing musical histories now residing in Toronto. I really enjoyed "My I'm Large" and "Art For Art's Sake" and some of my friends sang (or at least attempted to sing) "Trash" in a dinner theatre show. I've heard that you backed up a modern dance troupe in Toronto some years ago. Any other Canadian dates in your future? Do you need a Kingston, Ontario promoter? How much money do you need before you'll get up off the couch? You're all great and funky and unique. Please write me back! Take care and be gentle with your fledgling member. The Bobs rock the world! I'd been trying to find a Bobs CD--any of them--ever since seeing them listed in the "Thank You's" inside the Blenders' "Totally Whipped" album. Two weeks ago, I got my wish--"Songs For Tomorrow Morning." Two days ago I bought "The Bobs Cover The Songs Of..." These are two of the most awesome a cappella recordings I have ever heard. Richard's impossibly low bass notes, Matthew's comic take on darn near everything, Joe's gift for soulful melodies and vocal instrumentation, and Janie's unique yet pleasantly surprising sound make for fantastic musicianship all around. I haven't had a chance to hear any of their other material yet, but it's an experience I'm looking forward to. This week I plan on sharing the Bobs for the first time with my own a cappella group. Thanks to the Bobs for, unlike other phenomenal groups like the Blenders and Take 6, staying true to the a cappella art form and not polluting their music with anything more than an occasional bongo. What a great example for fledgling a cappella groups everywhere!

We saw you in Red Wing and thought the music was great. But what a crowd! Being performers, Connie and I empathized a lot. We figured you were limited in your repertoire, assuming Lori doesn't know all the songs yet. Otherwise I assume you would have done "First I was a hippie..." in honor of all the suits front & center. However, you seemed very California, and that didn't go over so well with the Red Wing audience. For example, Encino and Santa Cruz meant very little to most of them. We would be happy to share with you our 11 years experience in working a Minnesota concert audience, if you are interested. Just write back or, alternately, listen to Garrison Keillor (you don't have to like him to appreciate his crowd-working skills) or read Howard Mohr's book, How to Talk Minnesotan. Anyway, tell Lori she is a great addition. We're looking forward to hearing more from her. I could see that, if that was her first performance with\ you, that she might feel responsible for the crowd's lack of reaction. It's not her problem. You all worked really hard and the music was great. There's just that magical connection that was made harder by cultural differences. Come back stronger than ever. Thanks for a great evening!

I'm 6 years old and my mom's taking me to see The Bobs next week at Wolf Trap. It will be my first concert and we have first row seats. I can't wait! My favorite Bobs songs are "Kill Your Television," "Be My Yoko," and "Through the Wall." I think I'd like to be a Bob when I grow up. Yo, Lori and other Bobs-- I am so-o-o-o happy to see the great reviews of Lori (and the guys must be used to be slobbered over, so this one is for Lori). Think you'll have to rename the group: Three Guys and a Babe. (And youse can all thank me, onnacounta I took Lori to the Christmas show here in Santa Cruz at the Kuumbwa, KNOWING that The Bobs were auditioning a new Bob. I honestly don't think I've heard you sing, but I've heard a song on public radio here in Canada that I've always wanted to learn. When I found "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens" on the internet, and that The Bobs did it, and that The Bobs is an acappella group, I decided I had to get in contact. Is it possible to get your cassette "The Bobs", the one recorded in Berlin in '91 with "Ain't Nobody ..." on it? I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Thanks to The Bob's home page, I was able to catch the Avon, CO show on the 29th. Though it was for a small audience, they didn't hold back. Lori Bob has a great voice. I got this tidbit out of Matthew Bob - look for a new album this summer. The songs are written (at least one performed on current tour) and studio time is scheduled.

Enjoyed your concert in Red Wing last night, I was one of the ones in the back screaming in a very un-scandinavian way. I don't get to see the Bobs as often as I'd like, it also seems like every time I see them the personnel changes-- last time was the first time without Gunnar Bob, this time without Janie Bob. Still, it's differnt but it's great. Lori Bob did a tremendous job! And Joe Bob has really expanded stylistically since the first time I saw him-- amazing. Must be the shirt. (I didn;t have one liek that in the 70's, but then I didn't go to my prom either.)

We first saw you in St. Louis at the Center of Contemporary Arts (COCA) family series. That may have been when you first introduced "Particle Man" (you told us you had not ever done a children's show before, and had to scrape up new material. We were at the Red Wing show last night (moved to Minneapolis a month ago). Did not know you had a home page. We all liked the show.

Saw your concert last night at the Sheldon, and really enjoyed it! The two weakest numbers were "Disco Inferno" (no brass section) and Purple Haze (someone's voice was gone, but the electric guitar was super). One funny line was unintended. Someone commented "Don't be a snob", when the conversation of "spring-like weather" and its comparison to California's temperate climate was made. Actually, Minnesotans pity Californians, who don't have to face the extremes of our climate, and the social effects it renders. That's okay; its a Minnesota thing.
