I would be wonderful to see the Bobs again. As a recent transplant to the eastern Midwest I was saddened to see that there are no proposed Bob tour dates our way. Judging from the comments from others in the MI-OH area, there is enough demand... any chance?

Any chance of ever getting together with Todd Rundgren and making music together? Or at least performintg some of his music. It might be a great combination. TRi is out there about as far as you guys are. Good luck to Janie Bob in all her new ventures and thanks for helping out the Third Street Kids last year here in Tucson.

Hey guys, Caught your show in Irvine on Nov. 29th, just wanted you all, and Joe especially, that I LOVED "All I Want for Christmas." I bought the album and played it for all my friends, some of which didn't like some of your stuff I showed them before, and they loved it too. Way to go on this new Christmas Classic. See ya at the Roger B. Moore theater (Orange Coast College) in April, hey, I go to OCC!

The Night Before The Night Before Christmas got some airtime on our local public radio station a couple of days ago, so you're still remembered back home. Coming back to the TC anytime soon?

Haven't seen the BOBS since last Feruary in Massachusetts. Margy and I were just talking about needing a BOBS fix when the Watchfob came in the mail. We are very sorry to see Janie Bob leave the band. We wish her well. Can't wait to get the new album. We'll probably try to make some of the MA,NH,ME concerts in April. Can you send phone numbers for tickets? Hey Richard Bob, when I saw you last February you offered to put us on the guest list for our next concert. Still doable? I'll be in touch. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

I saw your concert with Iso-something or other at UMass a few years back ('91, '92??). I wanna say you billed yourself as the Iso-Bobs for the show. It was spectacular. Have you continued to work with them? I've been basically out of touch since that concert (concert-wise, that is. I have tha albums) It is unfortunate to see so few northeast appearances. I'm a new Bobber having heard The Bobs on Fred Hirshkowitz's radio show "Home Fries" on WBAI-FM, 99.5FM in NYC. I wrote him and asked "who was that?" It took months but he finally got back to me and said "The BOBS." So, I got on the Web and ordered some CDs. Cool stuff, indeed. If you like The Bobs, you oughta try "Those Darn Acccordions" - also clever and fun. Thier best CD is "Squeeze This" on Globe Records. CHEERS!

What can I say? I had hoped that last night's reference to Janie Bob leaving was only a joke. Sorry to hear her leave. To leave on a good note, I can't wait to hear the next album.

I'm part of your following--first saw you at the community college in Bel Air, MD--my hometown. Now that I am away at college, I have to depend on the grapevine to hear news. My mother just told me that Janie Bob is retiring and I was devastated. Her voice is very original and can never be duplicated or replaced. I wish her the best of luck in her new endeavours, whatever they may be. I am also upset that I will not be home in time to attend the concert at HCC, as usual, but I listen to your tapes/CDs often and wish you all the best of luck with your perfomances. Can't wait to hear more news of a possible new member. Thanks for the great music--you guys definitely have your own unique sound and style and I hope you continue to make music for many years to come. Lesley

Saw your show in Davis, CA last night...what a wonderful experience. Each time we see you we feel like royality. Hate (HATE) to see Janie leave. (Just for reference...we are the family with the CASEY who got special attention with his knowledge of computers and had the towel signed. (Mattew: you signed your name as "the Bobs"!!!) interesting...Janie, why are you leaving??? What's next??? All of you are very very talented. THANK YOU THANK YOU. M+M+C

Great concert last night - we've never seen you in such a pleasantly SMALL venue as The Palms. We caught you at the Great American Music Hall in SF several times, and at that culture-center-whatever in Santa Rosa, and once down near Stanford (we're LONG TIME Bobs fans). But I think this has to have been the most fun of all. I have some *important information* for Joe Bob about the Internet an' stuff. The "www" thing, you pronounce that "woo-woo-woo!", just like the Three Stooges would. This is a little-known fact, and you'll be able to outsmart those computer whiz kids with it. Janie, the "Tattoo Me" song is wonderful! I experienced a recovered memory during the song. Sometime in the past I saw Groucho Marx singing a song about "Lydia the Tatooed Lady"... I picture a medley. Of course, you'll have to stay with the group to perform it... Come to Davis again soon!!!

Thank you, Bobs, for just being you. The last time you kids played th' Boston area, I was unfortunately in germany, and could not attend the show. The last time you were in Germany, I was unfortunately in america and had the same problem. Let's hope we get it right this time! Some of my more enlightened friends attended the show for me, but it just wasn't the same! So come back and be my yoko, and you can sign my snarling doggy anytime you want!

i like to think of myself as a relatively sane and functional person but there is something about you BOBS that make me blithering, idiot FAN!! While I promise not to yell out song requests at your shows, I can't help a cat call or two when it comes to Joe Bob -- honey, I wanna spray paint your name all over town! I've been a fan since '81 (or was it '82) with "Be My Yoko." I thought your collaboration with Dr. Katz was pure genius - my wife can't stop humming it, and we're looking forward to your show in Tampa. We put together a group of at least ten people who will be there. P.S. I'm sure this is an old, tired question, but whatever happened to Gunnar? Do you still ever get together with him? Thanks, Rick Ganzi

I just re-subscribed to the e-mail list, after a 1.5 year hiatus, and have just finished reading all the Guestbook entries. Bobs w/ Gunnar vs Bobs w/ Joe I have always said was "different." Neither better nor worse, and both great. I hope the Bobs w/ Janie vs Bobs w/ TBA will provoke the same comment. Been a fan since my first show, at the Towne Crier in Pawling, NY in fall of 1987! I was the "friend" (roommate, at the time) that Tom Ferguson mentioned in his entry of 15 July 1996. Actually, it was a couple of months before the show that he postulated The Bobs covering in-a-gadda-da-vita, and I remember asking Richard when the idea had occurred to The Bobs to do the cover. I was rather surprised to hear him tell me that it was about two months previous! Remember Nigel from a few years ago at The Towne Crier? He is now 4, and has a 2 1/2 year old brother named Ian! About the only concerts their mom and I have been to since Nigel was born have been Bobs shows. Haven't missed a Bobs tour yet! Still wishing I had gotten into the workshop Richard did at the Omega Institute seven years ago. Sigh.

I'm sorry to see Janie Bob depart. On the other hand, earlier changes have shown that the Bobs is more than a collection of individuals, it's an institution. It's appropriate that the Bobs, like the Masterworks Chorus, can renew itself year after year. The more things change the more they are the same. A stitch in time saves spilt soup. You cannot affix humanity, by means of screws, nails, ropes or Magic Glue to a cruciform object composed of a relatively inert metallic element. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc. Usque ad coelum, usque ad nauseam, as is, world without end, amen.
